If the true objective of life is conscious self evolution, then being healthy is also a matter of conscious choice. Within certain parameters we have creative control over our lives. We can chooce to create our own tableau or pass on the palate to fate to do with as it wishes.
In the matter of health we know now that our choices have a great deal to do with what kind of health we end up with in our middle and later life. If like me you paid little regard to these facts when you were younger and your body was more robust, then by your mid forties you will have noticed the spreading waistline, the deteriorating vision, the high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. If you are really unlucky you may also have picked up diabetes or something worse.
I am guilty of excess, i am guilty of eating more than I needed to, of eating things i shouldn't have but also i am aware of the body's remarkable ability to repair and heal itself. It is unfortunate that this is one of the reason's we feel ourselves to be bullet proof during our teens and early twenties'. Our Bodies are repairing the damage we do to them daily, so efficiently that we go on repeating the same behaviours all over again. it is not until we are older that we realise that some of the effects on out bodies have been cumulative. it is not until the first worrying symptoms appear that we seek medical advice and then the routine of taking medication for this or that begins' but even then, we continue to abuse our bodies and expect the pills to let us carry on as usual.
I have long been aware of the limitations of modern medicine, the over reliance on chemical interventions that do not work with the body but frequently hamper its normal functions and so i have for many years now examined the various alternatives, lifestyles and other interventions purporting to restore health.
In these pages I will be sharing my experiences of health interventions that I have peronally explored or tried. Please check back soon for my first installment in what I hope will be a journey of discovery for myself and my readers.
Wishing you good health, wealth and happiness
